Dr. Shawn Grandia is a board-certified total joint orthopedic surgeon. She received her Bachelor of Arts in physics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois and earned her Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Grandia completed her residency training at State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York followed by a fellowship in joint replacement at Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic/Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute in Arlington, Virginia. She has also received additional training on direct anterior approach, advanced anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty, and revision anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty.
Dr. Grandia is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Maryland Orthopaedic Society and Eastern Orthopedic Association. She has received several awards and honors including The Fredrick News-Post Readers’ Choice Award for Best Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2015 in Frederick, Maryland.
